You don't really appreciate freedom of speech until it is gone. The UAE is one of the more liberal Middle Eastern countries, but that doesn't mean you can surf the web with abandon.You may think this is just to keep the porn out and that is true. We also cannot access Christian sites, Israeli sites or even buy a swim suit online. There are times when this makes my blue eyes "see red". Next I'll talk about our local newpaper, the Gulf News.
